SALT LAKE CITY – After a year with the New York Jets, Zach Wilson has become a popular guy in the NFL.
The former BYU star signalman was on the NFL’s 50 Best Selling Players list. Sales include an athlete’s jerseys and merchandise sales. the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) released the data and Wilson snuck in at No. 50.
All sales were counted from March 1, 2021 through February 28, 2022. Items included in merchandise sales include jerseys, t-shirts, hoodies, figures, plush toys, socks, blankets -faces, headbands, figurines, wall decals, backpacks, pennants, photos, glasses, pet products, etc.
Wilson was one of nine rookies to make the NFLPA sales list. The highest number of rookies in a year since the NFLPA began publishing this data on an annual basis in 2014. Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady finished No. 1 in sales, his second straight year in that capacity. The top rookie on the list is Patriots QB Mac Jones.
Last season, Wilson was 3-10 as a starter, passing for 2,334 yards and throwing nine touchdowns for 11 interceptions.
Wilson was the only Jets player to make the list of best-selling players.
