Ray Rice and Joe Flacco make top 50 NFL jersey sales

Their sales aren’t at Ray Lewis’ level, but Ray Rice and Joe Flacco’s jerseys are still bought by enough people to place them in the top 50.

The NFLPA has published the 50 best-selling jerseys of the past fiscal year. Rice’s jersey finished # 28 and Flacco # 35.

Not bad considering the Ravens were 8-8 last year and didn’t make the playoffs. On top of that, Flacco isn’t exactly a revered player outside of Baltimore (and even in town, he has his detractors).

Rice’s sales could take a hit next year, given the legal problem he finds himself in. Of course, that remains to be seen, and a lot could change depending on how he plays the 2014 season and how he handles the off-court situation in the months to come.

We’ll see if another Ravens player can slip into the mix next season. If I had any idea on one particular player seeing a huge increase in jersey sales, it would be Torrey Smith, a fan favorite who is emerging as a leader in the Ravens’ locker room. I have a feeling you will continue to see more # 82 jerseys around M&T Bank Stadium on match day.
