No.1 East Orange Campus HS football team prepare for playoffs – Essex News Daily

EAST ORANGE, NJ – Few teams are as hot as the East Orange Campus High School football team entering the playoffs.

The Jaguars are the No.1 seed in the state’s NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 5 playoffs. EOCHS, under fifth-year head coach Rae Oliver, enters the playoffs with an 8-0 record. This is the first time EOCHS has entered the playoffs with an unbeaten record on the season.

The Jaguars will host No. 8 seed Elizabeth in the first round on Saturday afternoon, November 6 at 1 p.m. at Paul Robeson Stadium. Elizabeth is 3-6 this season. The winner will face the winner between the No. 5 seed Westfield and the No. 4 seed West Orange in the semifinals. Ridgewood is seed # 2. EOCHS beat West Orange this season, 21-14, in a Super Football Conference – Freedom Red Division match at West Orange on September 24 in Week 4.

The Jaguars, who were inactive the week before, beat West Side 35-0 at Robeson Stadium on Saturday afternoon, October 30, to move to 8-0.

Last season, the playoffs were canceled due to the pandemic.

The Jaguars will visit Barringer for Thanksgiving in the regular season finale at Schools Stadium at 10:30 am.

  • Elizabeth, seeded # 8, at East Orange Campus, seeded # 1.
  • Seeded # 5 Westfield to seeded # 4 West Orange.
  • Montclair, seed # 6, to seed # 3, Passaic County Tech.
  • From seed # 7 Columbia to seed # 2 Ridgewood.

  • Westfield, 3-5.
  • Western Orange, 6-3.
  • Montclair, 5-4.
  • Passaic County Tech, 6-3.
