Jalen Hurts has second-best-selling NFL jersey after Eagles win in Week 1

Jalen Hurts’ bandwagon is increasingly crowded after his superb Week 1 performance in Atlanta. The No.1 Hurts Midnight Green Jersey is second on Fanatics’ best-selling NFL jerseys list, by ESPN’s Tim McManus, with a 500 percent increase in sales. Hurts is only behind another Alabama quarterback, Mac Jones of the Patriots.

A 500% jump is WILD, which is probably pretty similar to the rate at which Eagles fans are increasingly bullish this season.

Not that long ago, Eagles fans couldn’t find a new Hurts No.1 jersey in the pro shop near Lincoln Financial Field. The organization left him out of many offseason promotional materials as rumors circulated the team were interested in acquiring more quarterbacks. These Hurts jerseys will now be flying all over the Philly area and the demand is clearly huge online as well.

In April, Hurts changed his jersey number to No.1 after wearing No.2 as a rookie. Hurts wore number 2 while in Alabama, but then rose to number 1 after moving to Oklahoma. With the punter Cameron Johnston no longer there, the No.1 was released for Hurts. They say, “If you look good, you play good.” Both things are true for Hurts right now.

I was one of the people who grabbed a heavily discounted Hurts No. 2 midnight green jersey after it upgraded to its current number. I fondly remember the excitement of his rookie year and appreciate the hipster factor of having his OG number. If Hurts continues to play like he did against the Falcons, I might have to look for a black or white No.1 Hurts jersey to complete my wardrobe.
