Itanagar lands a hat-trick of district-level HDMT tournament titles

ITANAGAR, February 28: The Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) District Administration held its U-16 Boys and Girls Football and Volleyball Tournaments at district level for the 5th Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy (HDMT) at Sangay Lhaden Sports Complex Sports Academy in Chimpu near here on February 27th and 28th.

Itanagar picked up a hat-trick of titles by winning the men’s and women’s football and women’s volleyball tournaments.

Naharlagun won the boys volleyball tournament and Banderdewa was the runner up.

Bem Tada was voted best volleyball player in the men’s section.

In women’s volleyball, Naharlagun finished second.

The prize for the best volleyball player in the women’s section was awarded to Dai Yapi.

Naharlagun was also a finalist in men’s and women’s football.

The award for best football player in the boys category went to Yash Chikro, while the award for best football player in the girls category was won by Tadar Mari.

The winners of the boys’ and girls’ football tournaments received Rs. 50,000 each, while the winners of the volleyball tournaments received Rs. 30,000 each.

Football tournament runners-up received Rs 30,000 each, while volleyball tournament runners-up received Rs 15,000 each.

Cash prizes were also awarded to the best players.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by ICR Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom.

In Siang District, Pangin-Boleng Assembly Constituency (AC) beat Rumgong AC 3-0 in the final game of the HDMT Men’s Football Tournament played in Boleng.

In the final game of the women’s football tournament, Pangin-Boleng defeated Rumgong in a penalty shootout.

In the men’s volleyball tournament, Pangin-Boleng defeated Rumgong, and in the women’s volleyball tournament, Rumgong defeated Pangin-Boleng.

Hanu Tari of Rumgong was declared the best player of the men’s football tournament, while Ogam Taggu of Pangin-Boleng was voted the best player of the women’s football tournament.

Pabin from Pangin-Boleng was declared the best player of the men’s volleyball tournament and Aitu Tari from Rumgong was declared the best player of the women’s volleyball tournament. (DIPRO)
