Aug. 24 (THEWILL) — Ibrahim Musa Gusau, chairman of the presidents of football associations, has met with football officials in Zamfara State to announce his decision to run for president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), in elections scheduled for September 30 in Benin City, Edo State.

The move, according to Gusau, who is also the FA president of the Zamfara State Football Association and a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Organizing Committee, is aimed at fostering unity as well as the growth of the local league. .

If elected president of the NFF, Gusau promised that all international players at all levels would be chosen on merit and that he would focus on finding new talent across the country, while promising a step-by-step implementation of the 10-year development master plan recently. unveiled by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said: “The basis of football is the development of grassroots football. I have a solid plan to develop it and we will take it from there and then see how we are going to make our league competitive and be among the best in Africa if not the world.
