Jeff Bezos’ rocket company Blue Origin is set to send former NFL great player Michael Strahan into space – with a soccer ball.

ABC’s “Good Morning America” co-host ?? and the former New York Giant prepared for a morning liftoff from West Texas on Saturday. Five more will join him for the 10-minute flight, including the eldest daughter of the first American in space, Alan Shepard. Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket is named after him.

Strahan packed his Super Bowl ring and newly retired No.92 jersey for the ride. Bezos has also shipped a soccer ball that will go to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Laura Shepard Churchley takes over a tiny part of her father’s Freedom 7 Mercury capsule, which skyrocketed in 1961, as well as some memories that accompanied it to the moon on Apollo 14 in 1971.

This is Blue Origin’s third passenger flight. Bezos, who founded Amazon six years before Blue Origin, was in its first launch in July. The second, in October, featured actor William Shatner – Captain James Kirk from the original “Star Trek.”

The reusable and automated capsule will be particularly crowded this time. Instead of four, there will be six flights, including four paying customers.

Blue Origin initially targeted the launch on Thursday, but high winds forced a delay.
