Before training camp, the Cowboys super fan prepares – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Cowboys training camp starts next week, and a Cowboys fan who’s been at camp for decades will be there.

Carolyn Mopping Price has been a die-hard Cowboys fan since the 1960s. She has attended the team’s training camps for more than 30 years.

Now she is preparing for another.

“Excited as usual,” Price said. From her glittering silver flip flops to her singlets to a star face tattoo, she’ll be covered in Cowboys gear. Her look and her raspy voice when she shouts “How about those Cowboys?” became his signature.

Carolyn Price in a 2017 interview with NBC 5.

She even wrote an autobiography, “Priceless Dream,” about becoming the number one Cowboys fan.

“It’s so much fun and I’m amazed when I go down somewhere and complete strangers say, ‘Are you Miss Price? and I say, “Yes,” she explained.

Faith, family and football are top priorities. She’s a great-great-grandmother who, at 78, still works full-time because being a Cowboys fan, no matter how committed, can be expensive.

“It does, but I prepare for it every year,” Price said.

This year’s trip to Oxnard comes with an added bonus – escaping the relentless 100 degree heat at home for the 70 degree weather in Oxnard.

She’s been a staple on the sidelines for decades and says she has no plans to hang up the phone anytime soon.

Training camp runs from Wednesday July 27 to Wednesday August 10. Hall of Fame Game 2022 will air at 8 p.m. on August 4 on NBC 5 and Peacock.
