The famous Midrash comments “kol hatchalot kashot”, all beginnings are difficult. While it’s absolutely true that starting a new business or initiative can bring major challenges, it’s also true that the start is a time of tremendous excitement, energy and buzz.
There had been so much hype ahead of the Bergen County Flag Football League‘s (BCFL) inaugural season. One of our concerns at the start of the season was that it would be difficult to match the hype with the genuine joy, excitement and fun that we hoped players and families would experience. After some time reflecting on BCFL’s inaugural season, we are proud to announce that we have made it. After a full and exhilarating season of flag football, comprised of intense play, great coaches, reversible NFL FLAG jerseys, state-of-the-art grass pitches, licensed referees, great giveaways and more more so, players and parents are always on top of the fall season as they look forward to the spring season.
As with the fall season, we continued our partnership with NFL FLAG Football, the official flag football league of the NFL and the nation’s largest youth flag football organization. Some benefits of this partnership include replica official NFL reversible jerseys for all attendees, a discount on NFL FLAG merchandise, and support for the nation’s premier authenticated flag football league. The league will continue to be divided into five divisions, organized by level: K-1; 2-3; 4-5, 6-7 and 8. Girls and boys are welcome, but older divisions will be separated.
You can tell a lot about a league just by looking at the faces of the players. When you see smiles and laughter, you know the play is going well. But sometimes there is something more that you feel. Sometimes you can walk into a place and there is a unique electrifying energy. Then you know something really special is going on; something beautiful and extraordinary. It’s BCFL.
To register for BCFL’s spring season, please visit Bergenflag.org. Registration is currently open to everyone, with the deadline March 1, or until the divisions fill up (they have already started to fill up). E-mail [email protected] if you have any questions or to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.
