Anaku scores a hat-trick as Uganda Select side conclude Spain showcase

Ugandan football team Select (Team Fundi) concluded their 10-day showcase in Spain with a 5-3 win over America Soccer University.

On fire, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) striker Sadat Happy Anaku continued his blistering form, scoring a hat-trick on the day.

His teammate Julius Poloto and Proline’s Hakim Kiwanuka added the other two goals for the Ugandan youngsters coached by Turkish coach Omer Selli and Richard Malinga.

It was the Ugandans’ second victory over the same opposition after a previous 8-1 win at Camp De Finestrat in Alicante province.

Anaku scored four goals in the 8-1 victory with the other four goals from Erick Ssenjobe (Police), Alpha Thierry Ssali (Proline), Raymond Derrick Onyai (Kataka) and Ivan Ocholit (Proline).

The 5-3 victory marked the end of the showcase. In other matches, the Fundi team recorded a 1-0 victory against Atlético Benidorm Club Deportivo before a 2-1 slide against Club de Fútbol La Nucía.

The Spain-Uganda showcase arrangement was organized by the sports management of Festo Web in collaboration with Glasman International.

This trip was exclusively funded by the Government of Uganda in support of Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), Ugandan Parliament, Tororo Cement Limited, Lake Victoria Serena Hotel and Ministry of Health.
